RETIREMENT PRESENTATION

Congratulations to Eric Cruttenden on his being presented with a Silver Salver, on his retirement, from England Squash.
Eric first joined the SRA (as England Squash was previously known) in the early eighties. He transferred from the Hertfordshire Squash Council, where he was the Council representative from 1975. Eric was the Technical Adviser with the SRA and in the mid nineties added the onerous task of organising and running the Home Internationals. Eric has also been an active and playing member of the veteran Club of Great Britain since 1975 and has organised many club matches over the years.
He was first introduced to squash as a young boy, just after the war, by his Godparents, who lived in Dolphin Square and had a squash court in their basement.
During his many years as a squash player, Eric has represented England and his County and has only recently stopped playing due to problems with his hip.
He will be sorely missed, as his attention to detail, outrageous mothering of his players and totals commitment was legendry.
Squash survives and hopefully flourishes, primarily due to the efforts of a myriad of volunteers across the country but Eric has been exceptional over many years and truly deserves the accolade.
Eric, many happy years of retirement with your lovely wife, Ann.
