The first Regional Events were initiated in 2004.
These have grown succesfully from 4 to now include the North, South, East and West as well as the Midland Events.
From entry numbers in the late 60's initially, these now  regularly exceed 120, the events have proved to be a great success.
And the logistics are becoming more difficult with the larger entries, hence the need  for greater flexibility on the part of entrants
Along with that the playing standard has also substantially improved.
It is not just about points for England selection, though that is one of the reason for participating, but the  social atmosphere and friendships are an integral part of the week end.
